Thinking of a vacation in Honolulu? Not a bad choice! The largest city on the island of Oahu is beautiful, especially Waikiki Beach. Start your trip planning with cheap flights to Honolulu International Airport (HNL) onboard American Airlines, Alaskan Airlines, British Airways, Iberia, US Airways, among plenty of others. While there are non-stop flights to Honolulu, flights with 1 or 2 layovers are the cheapest.
Honolulu enjoys a moderate and tropical climate year-round so there's really no bad time to book a vacation in Hawaii. Waikiki is almost always sunny and if it is going to rain, it'll be in the hills or the eastern side of the city (winter only).
A flight to Honolulu from New York takes at least 11 hours.
This is the first place most visitors will land when they first arrive in Hawaii. Most visitors flock to Waikiki Beach, the most popular visitor attraction on the islands, but there is plenty more to discover!
Beaches: Waikiki Beach is always first on every visitor's list with its white sand and warm waters. It can also get very crowded. To get away from the crowds, try Ala Moana Park. The water is calmer and also has a beautiful park.
Pearl Harbor: This is a popular spot if you're interested in history. It’s located on the western side of the city. Today the harbor still functions as a naval base and there is a touching memorial and visitor's center.
Diamond Head: If you're after some pretty stunning scenery and views, look no further. This ancient volcanic crater dominates and offers the best views over Honolulu. Follow the trail up and you'll also find a WWII bunker.

Most visitors will stay at hotels in and around Waikiki Beach. When the winters on the mainland are particularly rough, lots of Americans head south, so book your Honolulu hotels well in advance if you plan to visit between December and March.
Rumor has it that Southwest Airlines plans to launch flights to Hawaii next year! The airline announced last week that tickets will go on sale in early 2018 but have yet to reveal exact routes.
