Last year, Norma was told she had uterine cancer. The news came two days after her husband of 67 years passed away. Norma made the decision to reject chemo or radiation and hit the road – literally. Norma’s son and daughter-in-law own a RV and drive cross-country, for the past six months they had the pleasure of having Norma (and her trusty poodle Ringo) along for the ride, which is sure to be a road trip of a lifetime. Although her mobility is, as expected, a little restricted this hasn’t stopped Norma from experiencing the adventure to its fullest, even taking a hot-air balloon ride. She has traveled to many fantastic landmarks including Mouth Rushmore, Yellowstone National Park, the Rocky Mountains, the Grand Canyon and Disney World. You can follow Driving Miss Norma’s travels on the public Facebook of the same name, which has over 85K followers. We wish Miss Norma the best of luck on her travels and hope she enjoys every minute.
