The city of Burgas is located on the east coast of Bulgaria, overlooking the Black Sea. Driving in Burgas: parking and other tips

Varna
Once you've explored the sights in Burgas, head north out of the city for a road trip up the coast of Bulgaria. The first stop on this coastal road trip is the city of Nesebar. Just over 21 miles from Burgas by road, the city is known for its Byzantine era ruins such as the Church of St. Sofia. Then, it's on to the city of Varna. A further 62 miles away, the city boasts beaches, culture and architectural landmarks. See the "Gold of Varna" in the Archaeological Museum; pay a visit to the nearby Aladzha Monastery; and relax on Varna's beaches.
Sofia
Sofia is the capital city of Bulgaria, and can be found in the west of the country. From Burgas, it's a drive of around 238 miles through the Bulgarian countryside, across much of the country – allowing the opportunity to see plenty of Bulgaria along the way. Once in Sofia, it's time to enjoy some of the city's many attractions. These include the Sofia Central Mineral Baths; the National Historical Museum; the Eagles' Bridge; and the Ivan Vazov National Theatre.
Plovdiv
In a hilly location, the city of Plovdiv is the second largest in Bulgaria and is popular with visitors thanks to its history and culture. From Burgas, drive west through Bulgarian towns, villages and countryside, before reaching the city of Plovdiv after a 158 mile drive. Head for Plovdiv's Old Town and the Plovdiv Regional Ethnographic Museum to learn more about the area's culture, before exploring attractions such as the Odeon of Philippopolis; the Roman Forum; and the Archaeological Museum.
