You can already make your own furniture: now, Swedish superstore IKEA is inviting you to make your own food too! For two weeks only, DIY restaurant The Dining Club by IKEA will set up shop in East London offering a range of workshops and cooking experiences.
Open from Saturday 10th September to Sunday 25th September, The Dining Club by IKEA will be a place to “celebrate the joy of cooking together”. You can take part in workshops and learn about everything from sustainable cooking and how to minimize waste, to how our senses impact how we eat.
For those who want a more personalized experience, you can sign up to cook your own dinner – totally free of charge! Don’t worry: you’ll be supervised and helped along the way by a professional chef to create a menu of modern and Scandinavian sharing dishes. Sign up before September 17 to take part – only 38 sessions are available, so you’d better get started on that application!
If selected, the entire space will be reserved for you and between 7 – 19 friends to whip up a feast – whether that’s brunch, lunch or dinner. Sound interesting? Book your cheap flights to London to take part!
Of course, the IKEA café will also be present serving up those famous meatballs – well, it wouldn’t be IKEA without them would it?!
