On Monday, the Hello-Kitty themed train made its maiden round trip between the cities of Taipei and Tatung. Around 200 fans won tickets to experience the first time the train made between the two islands.
The passengers would be pleased to see that the whole train, inside and out, was covered with hello kitty. The cute little cat even dominated the serving carts, meal boxes and anything else that had space for the hello kitty branding.
The purpose of the train is to attract international visitors and is collaboration between the Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA), Eva Air and Sanrio Taiwan.
The design concept revolves around ‘Travel around the world with Hello Kitty’ and is reflected through different travel scenes painted on the train’s eight cars. The travel scenes include: Taipei, Asia, Australia, Europe, Africa, North and South America, and the North and South poles.
Starting April 21, the hello kitty train will run periodically between Taipeli’s Shulin Station and Tatung’s Zhiben Station on Fridays, Saturday and Sundays.
