Rhode Island … Iceland … Rhode Island … Iceland: two destinations that are almost worlds apart. Although it seems they are easier to confuse than one might think. A video promoting the U.S state to tourists accidentally used a shot of the Nordic nation. Whoopsie. 

The video was released on an official website and social media; it was part of an overall $5 million campaign created around a new state logo and slogan.

When officials were alerted to the obvious mistake the clip was taken down immediately, but not before people had already shared it on their own Twitter account.

The video barely gets started before a shot of Reykjavik’s Harpa concert hall appears, along with the narration “Imagine a place that feels like home, but holds enough uniqueness that you are never bored”.
