We’ve all been there: you arrive at the airport ready to jet off on your vacation, only to realize you’ve forgotten to pack an essential item of clothing. Enter Uniqlo, a fashion brand which has come up with a solution to this common problem.
Uniqlo To Go is a new concept from clothing label Uniqlo, known for their simple, functional and affordable designs. Cutting out the need to queue in store, Uniqlo To Go vending machines are being set up at airports across the US, and will carry a number of Uniqlo products – including their popular Ultralight down jackets and Heattech thermal tops. Travelers can select their preferred style using a touchscreen, choosing both size and color, before the item is dispensed from the vending machine.
California’s Oakland International Airport is the first to offer a Uniqlo To Go vending machine; plans are in place to extend the program to nine more airports and shopping malls across the US. These will include the Hollywood & Highland Center in Los Angeles (August 10) and Houston Airport (August 17).
