Before she loses her sight, Cailee Herrell and her mom are on the ultimate ‘sightseeing bucketlist’ to create a ‘memory bank’ of amazing experiences!

6 year old Cailee Herrell, from Phoenix, has a rare disease called Familial Exudative Vitreoretinopathy (FEVR). Diagnosed at the age of two, the condition causes her sight to worsen and she will eventually go completely blind.

Understanding how important memory recognition is, her mom, Catrina Frost, has created the ultimate ‘sightseeing bucket list’ to make sure Cailee has some amazing memories before this happens. Writing on their GoFundMe page, Catrina writes: “I was fortunate enough to have a very special friend who lost her vision recently explain to me that “it’s not dark, because of her memories her brain recalls images and I ‘see’ quite well””.

So far Cailee has visited Disneyland and met all her favorite Disney princesses, and there are a number of other trips in the pipeline after suggestions from friends, family and supporters poured in – Catrina wrote “I would LOVE to take Cailee to New York during Fashion week!…Cooking classes, Art classes, The Redwoods, and the best…. The hot air balloon festival in New Mexico!”

You can keep up to date with Cailee’s adventures on her Facebook page.
