The TSA have introduced new screening rules which may mean you’ll want to leave a little extra time to get through security: travelers will now need to place large electronic items in separate bins for screening.

While the ban implemented earlier this year on large electronic items from airports across the Middle East has now been lifted, the TSA just announced new restrictions which will affect travelers across the US. The regulations mean that all electronic items larger than a cell phone will need to go in their own separate bins, for X-ray screening in standard lanes.

Placing electronic items in their own bins, with nothing on top or underneath, allows for a more thorough screening process.

The new measures are set to be rolled out across the US over the coming months, and are already in place at 10 airports including Los Angeles International and Ford-Lauderdale Hollywood International.
