The 90s are back in a big way, and a new pop-up diner in Chicago offers the chance to revisit one of the most popular sitcoms of the decade – Saved by the Bell!
High school diner The Max has been faithfully re-created in a space in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood, giving fans an opportunity to take a step back in time and get a taste of what life at Bayside High would have been like. Open nightly, Saved by the Max offers ticketed dinners (which have already sold out!) as well as walk-in brunch and late night services.
The first week of opening has already seen an appearance from actor Ed Alonzo, otherwise known as diner owner Max in the classic show, whilst producer and writer Peter Engel is set to visit later this summer. The diner has been faithfully recreated with help from NBC Universal, and provides a hit of nostalgia as well as a new addition to the colorful hangout spot in the form of a cocktail menu!
The diner is open through August 31, although its early popularity has sparked rumors that this could be extended. If you want to revisit Bayside High, grab a cheap flight to Chicago and see what all the fuss is about.
