Looking for some last minute summer vacation inspiration? The U.S. News & World Report has just released its list of the world’s top destinations to visit.
The publisher of consumer advice and information yesterday released its annual list of the world’s best vacation spots, as well as the top places to visit in the USA.
Taking the coveted top spot for the “World’s Best Places to Visit” list is the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. The world’s biggest single structure made by living organisms, the natural wonder is also a UNESCO world heritage site and with as much as a third of the coral in some areas dead due to bleaching, now is a great time to book cheap flights to Australia and visit while you can!
Paris is in second place with its rich cultural and historic appeal and Bora Bora in French Polynesia comes in at number three.
Turning the spotlight on the US, National Parks dominate the top three – Grand Canyon National Park is at number 1, whilst Yellowstone National Park comes third. In second place is Maui, Hawaii.
U.S. news travel editor Erin Shields explained the choices, stating that “these must-see spots across the globe are praised for their beauty and infinite attractions.”
