After a decade in the making, the Louvre will finally be opening its Abu Dhabi museum in November, pushing the boundaries architecturally and artistically. Art-lovers will definitely want to check this place out!

The brand new Louvre Abu Dhabi is set to open on November 11th after first being announced back in 2007. The museum, designed by French architect Jean Nouvel, includes 55 detached buildings, built over the water. 23 of these will be gallery spaces, which are all connected by promenades that overlook the ocean. Talk about a dreamy landscape!

The design is meant to make visitors feel as if they’re exploring the narrow streets of an Arabian medina, while at the same time experiencing world-class art including Leonardo da Vinci’s “La Belle Ferronnière” and a self-portrait by Vincent Van Gogh.

Visitors can access the museum either by boat or pontoon and can expect a fascinating and impressive complex of art, installation and design that is well worth booking flights to Abu Dhabi for. Tickets will be 60 AED (about $16).
