When it comes to Tinder, things can take a little while to get off the ground. In the case of this couple who swiped right on eachother, that ‘little while’ turned into 3 years! Now, Tinder is helping them meet for the first time…by sending them to Hawaii.
Having matched on the dating app Tinder in 2014, Kent University students Michelle Arendas and Josh Avsec began a three year long conversation which would see the couple taking months at a time to respond to each other. Having kicked things off by messaging Michelle, Josh received a response 2 months later. So began a running joke, in which each would message the other after a few months with an excuse to explain the lack of communication.
Hahahaha one day I’m going to meet this girl and it’s going to be epic. Look at the dates of our tinder texts. pic.twitter.com/DASQK4c5cX

After posting screenshots of their conversation on Twitter, Tinder got in touch, offering the couple the chance to finally meet in real life – with a trip to a city of their choosing. Hawaii was their final choice, meaning after years of missed chances the couple will, at last, get to go on their first date. Let’s just hope it doesn’t take them three years to get there!
