Airport officials have announced that data produced by Department of Transportation has shown the price of airfare to fall at Memphis International Airport.
The average airfare at Memphis has dropped $93, dropping to the 30th most expensive among the top 100 airports.
The average has fallen over a period of four years, the average roundtrip airfare from Memphis in the second quarter of 2012 was $511 and the same trip cost $418.70 in the same period of 2015.
The additional low-cost carriers have been responsible for the increased success, and thus decrease of airfares at Memphis International.
The airport have added 12 new flights and three new airlines in 2015 and have announced that Frontier Airlines is adding a nonstop Atlanta flight three times a week.
