Spring break is the best part of every school year. It’s bigger than Christmas and one of the most popular places to go is without a doubt Cancun, Mexico. Are you planning to spend a week in the sand and sun in Cancun? Here’s what you’ll need to pack.
Clothing
Pack at least 2 swimsuits; they take a real beating from the pool chlorine and the ocean salt and there’s nothing like a fresh suit after a few days. A beachy cover-up is also a good idea in case you drift away from the beach to get a bite to eat. Pack 1 pair of flip-flops and one pair of covered shoes. You’ll only wear your sandals during the day and it’s nice to have an alternative for the evenings.
Skip the towel, use the one at the hotel. As for other clothes 3-4 shirts and 3 pairs of shorts and one dressier outfit will be enough for the week. Pajamas and a week’s supply of underwear are also must-packs.
Toiletries
Pack your own shampoo, shower gel, etc. because you never know what your hotel will have on offer. And probably most importantly, sunscreen! Toothbrush and toothpaste are essentials! Plus, deodorant.
Don’t forget to pack your liquids into small, travel-sized bottles into a Ziploc bag if you’re carrying them in your carry-on for your flight to Cancun. Most importantly, pack your most reliable hangover remedies.
Other items
Make sure, once you arrive, to buy some bottled water. Make sure you only drink water that’s in a sealed bottle at resorts and restaurants. On the same note, packing some over-the-counter meds for upset stomachs and diarrhea. Pack a pair of sunglasses, a wide-brimmed hat for the beach and a tote bag for all your beach stuff.
What else could you possibly need for a week of parties and fun in Cancun? A stash of pesos, your iPhone loaded with plenty of good tunes at the ready and some earplugs, in case your room mates snore!
