Today marks the National Park Service Centennial and there are a number of ways you can celebrate our beautiful National Parks – even if you can’t actually get to one!
There are a ton of reasons to visit a National Park (amazing wildlife, beautiful scenery, awesome camping spots…) and if you choose to go between the 25 – 28 August, you can do it for free! Visit all of the parks, monuments and historical sites for $0 thanks to the U.S. National Park Service.
If you can’t make it to a National Park this weekend, Google has released a pretty awesome interactive documentary, entitled “The Hidden Worlds of our National Parks” offering viewers a look inside five National Parks using 360-degree video technology.
You can fly over an active volcano, take a trek through a cave and dive into the ocean to explore a shipwreck. All this, told through the eyes of some of the park rangers who take care of our National Parks and can offer an experienced insight.
So what are you waiting for? Now is the perfect time to celebrate the natural beauty of our National Parks and the dedication of those who take care of them.
