I’m afraid if you want to welcome 2016 in, in a different city or country you need to start searching for cheap flights and booking accommodation now. If you’re struggling to choose a destination for the event of the year, check out our suggestions of the best places to mark the start of 2016.
New York
Ring in the year at the most famous New Year party in the world. New York City’s annual New Year celebration in Times Square has been a tradition dating back to 1906. Over one million people attend the bash and squeeze into Times Square to watch the ball drop, but it most definitely the party atmosphere that makes this event so special.
London
See the most spectacular fireworks along the river Thames on New Year’s Eve. The city comes alive with festivities, celebrations and parties. London will have visitors from all over the world, so make sure you chat to people around you and you might even enter 2016 with a couple more friends.
Berlin
Known as a party city in general, Berlin will not let you down if you’re looking for a booze-fun-filled night. The focus of the celebrations is ‘Party Mile’ a two-kilometer stretch of festivities: bars, party tents, food stalls, music stages, laser shows and various other attractions.
There’s a firework show at midnight and then everyone heads over to the city’s many dance floors where they stay out until sunrise. 
Amsterdam
The city bridges are perfect viewing spots for watching the fireworks, and after those are finished its just a short walk to the bars where you’ll find most people parting until the morning. But if you wander Amsterdam streets you will be sure to find some cool and impromptu street parties for those of you who love a bit of spontaneity.
Oahu
This Hawaiian island offers you the best setting. In downtown Honolulu the Aloha Tower New Year’s Eve party runs between 7pm – 2am. Unlike New York you will be bringing in the New Year in warm weather and tropical scenery.
