More than 100,000 people were stranded at the Guangzhour railway station in central China this week after 23 trains were delayed due to rare weather disruptions.

As well as train delays travelers faced flight delays and cancellations after some heavy snow fall in central Hubei province. Of course, the bad weather has come at a particularly bad time in the lead up to the Chinese New Year, when nearly 3 billion trips are made during the 40 days surrounding the Lunar New Year.

Aerial photographs have been released which show the shocking scenes at the train station, you can see thousands of people crowded together and snaking around the station. A level two emergency was declared and 2,600 security guards came to manage the situation.
