An Emirates Airbus (A380) completed the world’s longest non-stop scheduled commercial flight, the jet travelled 14,200 km between Dubai and Auckland which took 17 hours and 15 minutes.
On Wednesday the flight touched down in New Zealand, officially completing the world’s longest flight, but the record won’t be held for long. An upcoming Emirate’s route, flying between Dubai-Panama City the service is set to take 17 hours 35 minutes.
New Zealand Transport Minister, Simon Bridge said, “Direct flights will encourage even more trade and tourism between our two countries, by offering more choice to passengers and freight customers,”
