Cell phones can be extremely useful when traveling. We use them to take photos, find directions and check out the best places to eat and drink. But do we value them even more than the company of a loved one?

That’s what a recent survey by hotels.com suggests, finding that 76% of respondents would choose their cell phone as their favorite travel accessory – compared with the 37% whose companion of choice was a loved one!

When using our cell phones on vacation, 40% of us head to social media, whilst other popular uses include checking the weather and using the map function.

When it comes to booking accommodation, the survey found that over half of those quizzed agreed their cell phone makes them more spontaneous – 42% booked their hotel on the same day as check in!

How do you use your cell phone while traveling?
