Leading Italian food and drink magazine, Gambero Rosso, has been sharing the best pastry shops in Italy with readers for six years. Now, the 2016 edition of its annual Pasticceri & Pasticcerie” guide has been released: these are the best pastry shops in Italy.

Famed for its cuisine, from pizza and pasta to pastries and gelato, Italy is already a great place to head if you want to indulge yourself. To make it even easier, Italian food and drink magazine Gambero Rosso has rounded up the top pastry shops in Italy.

Rating each pastry shop out of 100, those to receive 90 points or more are awarded the prestigious Tre Torte (Three Cakes). This year, there were four new additions to this list with the total number of recipients rising from 15 to 18.

Brescia’as Pasticceria Veneto, a pastry shop in Northern Italy, took the top spot with 95 points. Sharing second place, with 93 points, is Dalmasso near Turin and Maison Manilia in Southern Italy.

The top ten pastry shops in Italy were revealed as:

  2. Dalmasso, Avigliana
  3. Maison Manilia, Montesano sulla Marcellana
  4. Besuschio, Abbiategrasso
  5. Gino Fabbri Pasticcere, Bologna
  6. Acherer, Brunico
  7. Biasetto, Padua
  8. Nuovo Mondo, Prato
  9. Pasquale Marigliano, Ottaviano
  10. Bompiani, Rome
